Mr. Nguyen Quang Hung is currently Managing Director for Cat Tuong Corp, a leading company in the region in manufacturing and distributing insulation materials. He graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia with a Bachelor in Science before going on to study for postgraduates at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA – Physics) and Singapore MIT Alliance (SMA – Micro and Nanomaterials). He spent the next 10 years working in varied R&D positions for technology companies in Singapore and Australia. During this time together with colleagues, he has developed high-power plasma technologies that helped produce mass quantities of many nano oxide materials for high-tech applications. He then worked on the development of various rare earth metal applications for a world-leading rare earth mining company in Australia. In 2016 he came back to Vietnam to lead Cat Tuong and transformed the company from a local manufacturer to a solution provider in insulation materials. The company has doubled its revenue and built several new factories during his tenure. With an interest in renewable energy, he has proposed a solar rooftop system for Cat Tuong’s factory and got sponsored by GIZ (a German government organization for collaboration in renewable energy). The project was a showcase and further put into guidelines for solar rooftop investment in Vietnam.
